"Fairy Cattle" Viking/Dwarven Belt Bag Sporran,
A long time ago in the Highlands of Scotland, Deer were referred to as "Fairy Cattle". That image inspired me to create the design for this belt bag. The flap for this bag is embellished with hand tooled using my original design of "Fairy Cattle". I also hand carved a stamp of Deer hoof, which I used to embellish the belt loops and locking strap.
The hand cut and stained one piece flap/back is cut from veggie tanned cowhide, as is the inner front flap (to add structural reinforcement). The 2.5" gusset, inner backlining, and bag front are cut from a soft Grey/Green Deer hide, thematically tying the bag itself to the Deer design. The measures approximately 7" long by 6.33" inches wide. All components are hand stitched with waxed grey thread. There is not a lick of metal in the entire bag! Belt loops will accommodate up to a 3" wide belt.
